Karate is now a very well structured sport in India. The Non-Profitable Karate Organization, now called Indian Amateur Karate- Do Federation, has the mission to lead, communicate, develop and deliver high quality programs to its members.

Through its States and territorial associations, IAKF offers activities that allow its members to reach their full potential. Each State or territory has a single association recognized by Indian Amateur Karate- Do Federation. In IAKF is obviously the official representative of karate practitioners.


THE FOUNDATION OF IAKF

This lack of regulation and cohesion hindered the development of a structured competition network, as well as the recognition of karate by the International Olympic Committee and by official competition networks. It is with this in mind that Indian Amateur Karate- Do Federation was founded.

Today, IAKF is recognized by the Combat Games Federation of India as the only governing body who is promoting Karate on Amateur basis in Rural and Urban in India.

STRUCTURE

IAKF has started his working to promote Karate as a non-profit on June 08, 2006. IAKF is a group of State Associations of different styles of traditional non-contact and full contact karate that draw on the ancestral sources of karate-do. An individual who wishes to be part of Indian Amateur Karate- Do Federation must first register with an affiliated State Association to benefit from the numerous advantages of the Federation. The dojo’s wishes to join IAKF, then it must be registered with IAKF State Association.

Indian Amateur Karate- Do Federation is financially independent. The Board of Directors, made up of volunteers elected at a general meeting, is committed to carrying out the mission IAKF has set itself.
